Monday, September 2nd was the first day of Italian language classes. Classes begin at 9 a.m. with 2 hours of grammer instruction. This is followed by an hour “working break” at a local coffee bar with the instructor where conversation is held in Italian. Back to the palazzo (more on that later) for a different instructor and more structured conversational skills development.
My class this week (people come and go each week) is made up of 6 women ranging in age from 18 to a bit older than myself. Countries of residence include Kazakhstan, Finland, Norway, Russian, Great Britain and of course, the USA. After class today there was lunch at a trattoria in a different palazzo with the class of “absolute beginners” and then off for an orientation tour of Bologna. One of the instructors is at the head of the table. Quite the experience. Loving it!
